Splashes of Music…

Good Morning everyone! ūüôā . I feel very fresh this morning as there was heavy rainfall almost all the night, and the cloudy, watery weather just splashes one with energy. I have taken some photos of the scenery too, and will make a new header for my blog today.. ūüôā

_____

So, Splashes of Music. The way that music affects us..is sometimes¬†indescribable¬†and difficult to display on a canvas or ‘encode’ the same feelings in a photograph. ¬†So, I was naturally, very joyed to see this photograph by¬†oO-Rein-Oo¬†on deviantART (¬†http://oo-rein-oo.deviantart.com/¬†)..

Here, Dive Into Music

See how the dark¬†cassette¬†contrasts with the teal water. The effect is that they both compliment each other, and give an effect of music ‘splashing’ on your faces.. Feel it? I do!

His other photographs are very very vibrant too, and have somewhat similar effect on us.. Here are some:

Impossible and Unimaginable Colors…

Tempted by the thought that birds have more cones in their eyes than us, so they may be seeing colors that we cannot even process; so I flipped out my iPod and started a search to find some mention of these impossible colors, and I found a great article on Wikipedia  and some interesting posts on forums.

Before saying more, I want to mention an important and interesting tidbit; one of these impossible colors is this:

Yes, PINK!; when we add red and white, pink seems to be formed but the brain processes it as a combination of red and blue/violet. This snap from http://www.s4m4nth4x.com/2012/03/just-like-unicorns-it-turns-out-that-is.html adds detail as:

When you take the line of colors – Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet – It doesn’t make a complete circle. There’s a gap where infra red and ultra violet fall – Colors that our eyes can’t see.¬† Do you understand the problem?¬† The point where red and violet mix, creating our beloved pink, CANNOT BE SEEN! They don’t overlap!

So, moving on to the colors that the brain could not process in normal conditions . But there is a way to see some of them ( though everyone may not see these, but worth a try..:) )

Combine red and green and one gets the result as murky brown. But, red and green also combine to form a new color. Color that is both red and green at the same time ( not easy to explain though..)

And combine blue and yellow, and instead of green there is also a seemingly unimaginable color that is both blue and yellow at the same time..!

Some may see these colors by crossing their eyes and stare at the crosses, so that they lie on top of¬†each¬†other; the resultant may be the impossible color ( only some may see it, others may only see a shimmer- unfortunately i just¬†saw¬†yellow shimmering on blue.. ūüė¶ ).

Seems kinda cool¬†doesn’t it! Though, having only three cones makes creating Art easy..lol

This is how we roll!

The following video was just a sketch that I made during my ‘boring zone’ in OpenCanvas. Yeah, I use PaintToolSAi and OpenCanvas is very different for me. Hence, only a damn sketch.. But, if you interested (which you probably are)¬†then, here’s the video of how a sketch was made in open canvas!

So, check that out! and the sketch is not a rought¬†sketch, it’s a bit detailed..

As to Why OpenCanvas is Weird For me?

Well, as I started art using traditional mediums like oil paints, pencils and blah blah. So, when I started digital painting I used a software, namely PaintToolSAi; as this provided the same method of blending colors as oil paints. I.E. the colors merge. Phosotshop and OpenCanvas blend colors by overlapping opacities. This makes it too weird to blend colors for me and so, I only use Photoshop and OpenCanvas for photomanips and sketches.

So, to clarify, The blending in SAI:

And the blending in GIMP (which uses the same method as PhotoShop and OpenCanvas):

So there…. See you l8r!
