“The best new TRANCE and PROGRESSIVE in a 2 hour Mix — Th-This is a state of Trance-Trance-Trance”

These words kick-off the most famous music show world-wide, a session from Armin-Van-Buuren’s ‘A State of Trance’.

Trance genre and I go way back. Been in love with this genre of music ever since I listened to ‘In and Out of Love’, before that I listened mostly to Techno and other Electronica sub-genres.

To the newbies out there, trance and progressive music is very euphoric, melodic and even hypnotic! It induces strong emotion (as classical music did, maybe due to its tempo between 125 and 160 bpm). Hence, in an art-block, am I? Let’s listen to some Trance (and maybe Bach’s Preludium in C Major too).

I find much of the art in these side-effects of creating art in itself. I would not use the eraser when most necessary. The rather polluted negative-space has created an aura of dream-like qualities- has as it not?

“Albert”

“Albert”
A portrait of Albert Einstein

It’s amusing how little things inspire us, and some inspire as such to adopt a new style of art; Do something out of the ordinary – consume ‘life’ in an adventure. To explore new possibilities and to adopt and evolve oneself.
These past few weeks, I have indeed watched a decent share of ‘Great’ films that I consider to be masterpieces of the ‘Cinema’.
Now, here I have painted a portrait of Albert Einstein; A great- great mind of the early 20th Century who poured on our minds the knowledge; to be as technologically advanced as we (the World ) is now. I imagined as, what would it be like to study under his teachings. To be there, one of the students.
___________
// Realism – ( Hyper-realism ? )
//Art Process
Portraiture – this is what urges my finger-tips these days. To grab a brush ( a real brush or a digital one ) and start off- moving closer and closer to achieving ‘the’ Hyper-real. Works so detailed and accurately toned that the result seems near photographic. Though, without the inspiration that those old films provided me with- this would not have been possible. As, the photographs of Einstein are just a few- and for my work I could not use multiple references – as the behaviour of light in nature is complex and imagination fails then- leading the artist in-vain with impractical results. So, a printed image in my hand- I referred to that continually in process of this painting. It is painted just as one would paint a ‘Oil on Canvas’ painting. Only a single layer is used for the subject ( Background layers are separate). Firstly, the rough tonal variations were painted, then the rough micro pores- then the detailed ones; with the lighting continually corrected along the way. The most minute of the details were added without reference, those were by my previous experience with realistic art. Also, hues were altered to end-up with a greyish-brown hue, to promote the feel of ‘importance’. However, nothing was referred for the coat, practising on the canvas, I ended up with a material that mimicked leather- so I went with that.
That is all//

On A Skateboard

On A Skateboard

Yeah, okay –okay. You don’t have to tell me. I know I have just started to skate and am quite n00bish in that, well but I has wanted to sketch something that related to the ‘fun of the outdoors’ ( even in a remote sense). To have recently found the joy in jumping on a bored and ‘pedaling’ by toes against the floor- to make me move a few feet forward (yes, the floor isn’t exactly ‘great’ for a skateboard— needs to be smooth)- Yes, I found inspiration in skateboarding ( and some outdoor enjoyment- especially in this Cruel- Cruel Summer, when no ones hangs out with you). And so yes- I sketched which is practically me on a skateboard- I mean like who else can be this ‘thin’? Strangely, I have yet to fall from the board, and this is giving me a growing sensation that I’m not practicing enough. But did you notice something? It’s just a glimmer, not vivid- an impression in ones life’time’ it is! The scene faded as one’s memory fades with time- and how my memory will probably fade and rust with time. Oh- time is relentless in it’s evil.

Practicing the Foams!

Hello all! ^_^ …

Yesterday, I saw this amazing artwork by an amazing artist on Google+. I noticed that she had painted the ‘foam’ in a waterscape scene, a bright color of red/orange instead of white. To me (someone who paints highlights as white), her method seemed to give a more realistic feel to the image. So I began experimenting with waterscape scenes, painting the foam as white and not-white.  So below is the first and only  image I have created.  It’s done digitally on SAI. And does not use any textures or images overlay-ed!

So…check this out, and give me your feedback!  (^+^)
