“The best new TRANCE and PROGRESSIVE in a 2 hour Mix — Th-This is a state of Trance-Trance-Trance”

These words kick-off the most famous music show world-wide, a session from Armin-Van-Buuren’s ‘A State of Trance’.

Trance genre and I go way back. Been in love with this genre of music ever since I listened to ‘In and Out of Love’, before that I listened mostly to Techno and other Electronica sub-genres.

To the newbies out there, trance and progressive music is very euphoric, melodic and even hypnotic! It induces strong emotion (as classical music did, maybe due to its tempo between 125 and 160 bpm). Hence, in an art-block, am I? Let’s listen to some Trance (and maybe Bach’s Preludium in C Major too).

Pencils: 2H 1B 4B 6B 9B EE (super dark) charcoals

I find much of the art in these side-effects of creating art in itself. I would not use the eraser when most necessary. The rather polluted negative-space has created an aura of dream-like qualities- has as it not?

“Whew” finally done!
Now I can move over to the other portrait I have an idea about. I can’t really for sure say how much time this one took, but seems like a total of about 2 and a half hours – give or take some minutes.

This is what it looks like after going through all of it many times, correcting the tones here and there- and using the darker charcoals to have a greater variety of tones in it. Giving it an overall realism.
P.S. Made on my new sketchbook~~

Some promotion for my Facebook Page would be great:

“Albert”

“Albert”
A portrait of Albert Einstein

It’s amusing how little things inspire us, and some inspire as such to adopt a new style of art; Do something out of the ordinary – consume ‘life’ in an adventure. To explore new possibilities and to adopt and evolve oneself.
These past few weeks, I have indeed watched a decent share of ‘Great’ films that I consider to be masterpieces of the ‘Cinema’.
Now, here I have painted a portrait of Albert Einstein; A great- great mind of the early 20th Century who poured on our minds the knowledge; to be as technologically advanced as we (the World ) is now. I imagined as, what would it be like to study under his teachings. To be there, one of the students.
___________
// Realism – ( Hyper-realism ? )
//Art Process
Portraiture – this is what urges my finger-tips these days. To grab a brush ( a real brush or a digital one ) and start off- moving closer and closer to achieving ‘the’ Hyper-real. Works so detailed and accurately toned that the result seems near photographic. Though, without the inspiration that those old films provided me with- this would not have been possible. As, the photographs of Einstein are just a few- and for my work I could not use multiple references – as the behaviour of light in nature is complex and imagination fails then- leading the artist in-vain with impractical results. So, a printed image in my hand- I referred to that continually in process of this painting. It is painted just as one would paint a ‘Oil on Canvas’ painting. Only a single layer is used for the subject ( Background layers are separate). Firstly, the rough tonal variations were painted, then the rough micro pores- then the detailed ones; with the lighting continually corrected along the way. The most minute of the details were added without reference, those were by my previous experience with realistic art. Also, hues were altered to end-up with a greyish-brown hue, to promote the feel of ‘importance’. However, nothing was referred for the coat, practising on the canvas, I ended up with a material that mimicked leather- so I went with that.
That is all//

On A Skateboard

On A Skateboard

Yeah, okay –okay. You don’t have to tell me. I know I have just started to skate and am quite n00bish in that, well but I has wanted to sketch something that related to the ‘fun of the outdoors’ ( even in a remote sense). To have recently found the joy in jumping on a bored and ‘pedaling’ by toes against the floor- to make me move a few feet forward (yes, the floor isn’t exactly ‘great’ for a skateboard— needs to be smooth)- Yes, I found inspiration in skateboarding ( and some outdoor enjoyment- especially in this Cruel- Cruel Summer, when no ones hangs out with you). And so yes- I sketched which is practically me on a skateboard- I mean like who else can be this ‘thin’? Strangely, I have yet to fall from the board, and this is giving me a growing sensation that I’m not practicing enough. But did you notice something? It’s just a glimmer, not vivid- an impression in ones life’time’ it is! The scene faded as one’s memory fades with time- and how my memory will probably fade and rust with time. Oh- time is relentless in it’s evil.

Something Up There..

Something Up There..

I uploaded this version first on Facebook, rather than the Traditional one ( as scanned)..
Well here’s the details as I first uploaded it//

_____________________________
“First sketched with charcoal pencils. It was ‘molded’ in the form you see below by scanning the traditional sketch, and redrawing over it in Photoshop. So, in it’s essence one can call it a TraDigital ( yup it is a category on DeviantART) work, as both forms are utilized.
I wanted to do something different from oil paintings, some form of art, which is somewhat ‘speedy’. A one that will be ‘one of my’ signature styles. And here it officially begins. Though, works like these have been created by me before, but the skills were albeit weak back then.
So what Art category should this belong to? In my own opinion, it can be anime, line-art, abstraction and like-wise. As an experimental piece of work this is.

In the digital enhancement stage, I was choosy between a few styles I had made. Should I go with a darker blue tone one, or a lighter one. Changes in Tone and Color changes the whole expression. Be it mellow, happy, sad..etc. I can get many expressions from this one.

The Originals – I

The Originals - I

This is how is drew it, ( the TraDigital Artwork you see as my profile pic and the cover image – on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ibraryunus )….
This is what it looked like before applying digital paints and ‘Photoshop’ to it. In the digital version, I focused more on making the hair look dark and ‘gothic’, but this in turn also darkened the artwork altogether ( Yes, I can darken pats separately, but then the ‘balance’ in this would be lost), and hence, the details in the ‘streams of text’ was blurred into just a dark line….
But in the original one (here), you can still see the detail in the streams of text…

Sketches!

Completed a portrait sketch (2 days ago)!

Here it is!

Image

Yup, I spent a few days working on this. The challenges I’ve come across while making this were, firstly, making the skin look less like stone and more like skin. This was achieved via very soft smudging of the sketch. I made her hair, very nicely (really!) but then had a better idea of a hat and so…this.

Here’s another shot of it:

Image

Want even more details on it? well, you can see them on my Google+ page at https://plus.google.com/110691827763571631843 or I’ll just paste the post here for you.

I’m not a portrait artist, and haven’t been sketching portraits for a long long time (years) . After learning new methods in creation of art both digitally and traditionally, I thought that it was a time to revisit portrait sketching; Hence I started off and created this.
________________
Completed in a few days, this is still not officially titled, so suggestions for a title are welcome. 🙂
In this, the light source is from the whole right side of the paper. Hence, I added  details to only one side of here face, the other side is glowing brightly, thus, details are hidden.

I especially wanted to practice ‘realism’ in sketching with this; wanting to achieve photo-realism in sketching, I posit that this is a step towards the right path. If I did something wrong in this artwork, then please do critique constructively.

So this apples here too, suggest a title and critique if you must, but critique constructively…

And some closeups:

Ciao for now…

Gothic…Stunning?

So it’s Monday (I guess…..no rly) …well what ever day it is… Im gonna share this piece of art that I made like 2-3 days ago…so here :

Image

So there, the following are the details (taken from my RedBubble Store) (Yes Store, and you can get all the prints of my artworks from there …..wont you? :3 )

Hi all! I hope you like this one. This is from my series of black and white steampunk/Gothic art. Her eyes are ‘exaggerated’ as they are stylized. Artists tend to give more attention to the eyes as humans look at eyes first and then the ‘face’. The stylization was done to give an increased sense of….visual beauty, so that if hung on a wall; It will be quite stunning and attention grabbing. Made only two colors, gray and white (absence of gray), I present to you, The Gothic Eyes.

So as I said above (cuz who would go through the ‘details’) …i made the eyes huge, so that it’ll look more awesome….and awesom-ify (if thats a word) the wall it’s hanging on….

So there…… Ciao

PS

Why the QR code? well scan it and it’ll take you direct to my store to buy the print……And get the damn print you shall! !!

PS II

I feel suddenly bored………..Why oh why?
